Security Doors Empty New Door Request

Post  Bree215 Thu Nov 15, 2012 3:31 pm

Hello!

Do any of you homeowners have security doors already installed on your units? Do you have any advice or recommendations for homeowners who do not?

About 6mo ago, my boyfriend and I submitted the form to request authorization for a security door to be added. The process took 2mo to reject after many emails an phone calls to Errandy for follow-up on the process. Eventually, I was advised that the door I selected was bronze, not black, and I'd have to resubmit the entire process with a black door before I could proceed. I understand that we're going for uniformity here, so even though I think bronze would be more beautiful in our community, I am willing to purchase a black one.

Here's the door I'd like to add, I would appreciate any feedback if you see a reason it may be declined:

This particular door is made by Gatehouse and runs for $161.00 at Lowe's.

Also, if any other homeowners are interested in purchasing doors together, I would be happy to request a group rate discount from Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. if they are interested in our business. Please reply here with an image if you have a different door preference, or have a door that was successfully approved and installed! Thanks!!

POSTING AN IMAGE: By the way, if you can pull up a picture on a website that has no text, the image you'd like to put in the forum, click the symbol above that looks like a photo (when you hover over it, it reads "Image"). When you click on it, it will ask you to type or paste in a URL to that image, and then display that image for you in your post. Smile

Security Doors Empty RE: Authorized screen door

Post  BevLR Thu Nov 15, 2012 4:21 pm

Hi Bree:

I know that a few years ago, I wanted to add a security door and checked with the Management Company to see what they authorized. Both of the models that they gave me were well over $300, so I did not add the door as it was beyond what I could afford Cool . You might check with Linda and see what they are authorizing these days.
