Heated pool in winter

A heated pool in the winter would be great. Is it possible to use batteries or solar
down here in Arizona?

How about those people at the gym generating power for batteries to heating the pool? Seems like a win/win to me.

I like your thinking...if I walk enough miles on that treadmill, I'll heat the pool enough to swim! It makes perfect sense! Lol!

Actually, if we could get Alex, our genius Engineer to step in here, perhaps we could see about options.

Anyone else like this idea? Snobird and I cannot be the ONLY ones who want a warmer pool this winter season, right?

Does anyone know how much a solar cover costs? We're lucky enough to have simple, rectangular pools, so we may even be able to purchase used ones that are slightly over- or undersized ones that, despite not fitting perfectly, will help increase the pool temp by a few degrees easily!

We would, though, have to consider who would be responsible for placing the cover on and or steps for pulling it off for daytime usage.
